My family and I have lived from Central Texas to the Panhandle. No matter where we lived, my heart and roots remained in beautiful western Llano County. While growing up, most weekends, holidays, and summers were spent with my grandparents just north of Castell. After graduation from Tarleton State University with a biology degree, I spent four years coaching high school football, basketball, and teaching biology in Nazareth and Crosbyton Texas. While attending graduate school, I met my wife Judy. A week after getting married we moved to Llano where we both began teaching in the Llano School District. Judy teaches kindergarten while I coached and taught biology in high school. Later we both earned our Master of Education degrees. We knew early on that Llano would be our home and the perfect community to raise our three children, David, Joel, and Carrie.
In 1980 I earned my real estate license and began selling during the summers. I eventually quit coaching in order to spend more time with my family and took the position of teaching junior high science. My entire life I have loved being outdoors, working/feeding cattle, deer hunting, running hounds, gardening, and fishing. For the past twenty-five years, I have run a cow-calf operation specializing in raising quality Gert cross cattle. My children and I spent many years successfully raising and showing lambs, and steers. We have branched out into the Boer goat business and still sell a few American show steers. In 2006, after 32 years of teaching, I retired. I began working full-time for Landmasters in the Llano office. I am looking forward to spending more time hunting, fishing, feeding my cattle in daylight, and building a real estate business. I have received a Quality Service Award and the Hill Country Brokers Council Distinguished Agent Award. God continues to bless me in all areas of my life.
