I was born and raised on a ranch in Llano and, like many country kids, I couldn’t wait to get away and see the world. After graduating from Llano High School, I attended Principia College in Illinois where I received a degree in Environmental Science. After college, I lived in St. Louis, Missouri; Portland, Oregon; Leelanau, Michigan; and ultimately San Diego, California. I traveled extensively to South America, Asia, and Europe, and I became an entrepreneur and a surfer. After more than 20 years away from Llano, I finally returned with fresh eyes- able to see what it was that attracts so many people to our quaint town and to the beautiful Hill Country. I now live on the family ranch north of Llano in Babyhead, which has been in my family for over a hundred years.
In addition to being a semi-bonafide cattleman, I am also involved with Llano civic life, including being a founding member of the Llano Earth Art Fest, President of the Llano Main Street Association, and Board Member of the Friends of the Llano Red Top Jail. I have written two books about Texas and I am the creator of GoLlano.com. I stake my reputation on being honest, knowledgeable, and hardworking. From my experience, I can see Llano from both an insider's an outsider's perspective. I want to show you what it is that makes Llano so unique and help you find your own piece of this Hill Country paradise.
