About Teryl McFerrin

Teryl McFerrin is from a long line of native Texans. She grew up in Buda, attended college at
Southwestern University in Georgetown and the University of Texas at Austin, and landed in
Burnet after years working in tech and Higher Ed. in Austin.

For over 12 years, Teryl worked in fundraising and philanthropy, raising millions for education
and non-profits over the course of her career, through marketing and personal relationships.
Starting as a student caller at Southwestern, to a major gift officer at the University of Texas to
Director of Development at non-profits Westcave Outdoor Discovery Center and Texas Human
Heroes. Her education and experience in communication and advertising have helped her
refine both mass marketing skills as well as interpersonal relationships.

Teryl works with the Burnet Chamber of Commerce in putting on major community events,
cultivating new and existing members, and boosting the marketing efforts of local growing
businesses. She is dedicated to developing meaningful relationships throughout the community
to help Burnet thrive and flourish. Teryl is the Publicity Chair for the Shady Grove Elementary
PTO and volunteers with Girl Scouts of Burnet and the Burnet Youth Baseball and Softball
league. Above all, she is dedicated to her friends and family-- her husband, two young children,
and two dogs.
