This lively bar offers beer, wine, and the best burgers for miles around. There are also pool tables, flat-screen televisions, and even weekly shuffleboard tournaments. The Dam Grill is another local restaurant serving classic and comfortable American cuisine. This small-town diner offers breakfast and lunch daily and boasts the best chicken fried steak in the area.
Rockaway RV Park is a must-visit if you need a relaxing weekend getaway. This park is nestled on the shoreline of Inks Lake, providing gorgeous views over the water. This is a perfect park for relaxing by the water with your family and friends. Guests can reserve a spot to park their RV and camp out by the lake. Campsite amenities include fishing and swimming spots, laundry facilities, wifi, boat ramps, and bathrooms with showers. Visitors can also rent kayaks and spend the day sailing on the water.
It is important to be prepared when camping, but sometimes you reach the campsite and realize you're missing something. The Inks Lake State Park Store is a one-stop-shop for park visitors. This store sells groceries, snacks, supplies, and souvenirs.
Things to Do
Inks Lake State Park is an excellent adventure and recreation destination in Texas. This park is a truly hidden gem with beautiful blue water, stunning cliff faces, and magnificent sunsets. There are nine miles of hiking trail for visitors to explore and awe at nature. The park also offers pavilion areas perfect for family reunions or celebrations. Of course, the lake is the main attraction at the park. Guests can swim, boat, water ski, scuba dive, and fish. Be aware that there are no lifeguards on duty! Two fishing piers are perfect for reeling in a nice catch and a boat ramp if you prefer to fish on the open water. Inks Lake State Park boasts nearly 200 campsites and 20 cabins. Many campgrounds also have playgrounds to make camping fun for the whole family.
Inside Inks Lake State Park is an attraction known as the Devil's Waterhole. The Devil's Waterhole is a popular natural swimming spot surrounded by stunning rock formations. You can access it by taking a short hike through the park or by paddle boat. With huge rocks and ledges that reach 40 feet high, this swimming spot is not for the faint of heart. Also, you can observe scenic waterfalls when Valley Spring Creek is flowing.
Camp Longhorn is a locally operated summer camp dedicated to making camping fun for kids. Founded over 75 years ago, Camp Longhorn challenges kids to try new things and become confident in their abilities. Many camp activities are water-focused to ensure every kid feels comfortable in the water. Campers can enjoy swimming, sailing, rock climbing, and water skiing.
