Springtime is the most exciting time to visit the beautiful small town of Llano! Plan your visit – there are lots of activities and events scheduled.
In March, the annual L.E.A.F (Llano Earth Art Festival) event is very popular for good reason. Held on the banks of the Llano River, it’s the World Rock Stacking and Skipping Championships. Watch world renowned artists defy gravity while stacking rocks in unique and beautiful sculptures. For kids, there’s a lot to do with workshops and activities, and they love trying their hand at stacking rocks. Music, interesting vendors, and the gorgeous setting attract many visitors every year. It’s lots of fun and we make sure to bring our family every year. LEAF is held Friday, March 11 – Sunday March 13. Check out their website for more info www.llanoearthartfest.org
The first weekend in April, there are 2 major events. The 46th annual Fiddle Fest starts Friday April 1 and ends on Sunday, April 3. The Llano River Chuck Wagon Cookoff is held on the same weekend, April 1 & 2, on the banks of the Llano River in Badu Park. They cook a meal for the public on Saturday; be sure purchase tickets in advance as they sell out every year. More information is on the website www.llanochuckwagoncookoff.com
